Adult Tang Soo Do Classes

Tang Soo Do (Korean martial arts) gained popularity in the U.S. initially through movies by Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee. This style is a composite of 60% Soo Bak (ancient foot fighting methods) and 40% Chinese hand techniques. It features dynamic kicking, punching and blocking techniques that can be used offensively and for self-defense.

Classes are structured and safe to give students the maximum benefit per hour in fitness coordination and skill development under the watchful eye of experienced certified black belts.

Students find classes educational, empowering and fun. Disciplined training and ethical standards produce strong, confident students with many leadership character qualities. We emphasize ability with responsibility, not destruction. Part of our powerful self-defense skill set, includes non-violent conflict resolution strategies with low-level self-defense skills for handling the class bullies.

As you are reading this, I hope that your exposure to martial arts is more than what is depicted in the movies which is most times quite violent with little regard for how that violence can affect not just others, but ourselves.

True martial art training does more than teach fighting skills, it emphasizes the development of the total individual in mind body and spirit.

As students become more skilled, they are able to utilize what is called the “least amount of force philosophy” to avoid hurting an opponent more than may be necessary while confronting a potentially hostile situation.
